Provo, UT, United States, 2013/06/20 - Excursion Outfitters has partnered with Klymit in order to carry their extensive hiking and camping gear line. Klymit has incorporated Argon gas in to their gear as an effective insulator which insulates 3X better than conventional materials.

Excursion Outfitters recently announced that they will now be carrying Klymit brand hiking and camping products on their website. In order to create awareness about Klymit's newly formed partnership with Excursion Outfitters, Klymit will be spotlighting their new dealer on their website, klymit.com, on June 21st.
Excursion Outfitters is a recently established outdoor company that focuses on lightweight and innovative hiking and camping equipment. The company was created in September of 2012 and currently carries five separate outdoor brands including: Klymit, Mountainsmith, Julbo, Jetboil, and Nikwax. The company plans on supplying several more brands by the end of the year.
When Tyler Tebbs, a co-owner of Excursion Outfitters, was asked why they decided to supply Klymit products, he said "Klymit is a company that is changing the way camping and hiking gear is insulated. As opposed to traditional companies that use dead air, Klymit uses Argon gas as an insulator which insulates 3X better than dead air. Klymit’s sleeping pads are expected to be the most popular gear that Excursion Outfitters will supply. Excursion Outfitters intends to provide the Klymit Inertia X Frame, Inertia Xl, Inertia X Frame Recon, Inertia X-Lite, Insulated Static V, Inertia X-Lite Recon, and the Inertia XL Recon sleeping pad models. Tyler Tebbs also said “We intend to provide all of Klymit’s sleeping pads to our customers. Klymit produces the lightest pads in the world. They are perfect for serious hikers since some of the models weigh less than half a pound and are smaller than a 12 ounce soda can when rolled up. Excursion Outfitters (excursionoutfitters.com) also intends on supplying Klymit’s extensive outdoor apparel line which will be available in the fall. Like their sleeping pads, Klymit has integrated Argon Gas in to their vests. This allows the user to fill the jacket with as much gas as they want with no more than a turn of a dial. A regulator which is located inside the left face pocket regulates the thickness of the Jacket by utilizing a Argon gas pressured cartridge. The benefit of the regulator is that the user can release or fill the jacket with gas by twisting the dial on the regulator and thus calibrate the jacket to a specific temperature.
Since the gas is 3X better solution than dead air, the jackets remain relatively thin. Argon gas also retains its thermal properties when wet, meaning that the wearer won’t get cold when submerged under water. The gas is completely environmentally friendly and isn’t flammable so safety isn’t a concern. They encourage everyone who is curious to learn more about Klymit’s innovative technology.
